The Carnival painters

When we say we can produce any colour (RAL, Pantone or NCS, even on a single piece, with no minimum order), the reasonable question is why we can and others cannot.

In this town, two industries that deal with colour obsessively live side by side, and neither of them is the tap industry.

The first is the megayacht shipyards. Painting a hull means working on huge surfaces, with aesthetic tolerances that do not allow a shadow, and with cycles that must withstand the sea for years. In Viareggio it is a trade handed down.

The second is the Carnival. The floats are structures up to twenty metres high, built from scratch every year, painted by hand in every shade imaginable and taken onto the streets in winter, in the rain. Those who paint them are used to two things: large scale and the colour that does not exist in the swatch book. If a missing shade is needed, it gets made.

Around these two industries a network of painters has grown that has no equivalent in the rest of Italy. They are the same ones we turn to.

That is why a special shade on a single piece is, for us, a normal request and not an exception to negotiate. Not because we are more flexible than others, but because we have the right suppliers ten minutes away by car.

Geography, now and then, counts for more than strategy.
