Twiggy at Cersaie 2026: the "number one" collection in brass PVD

At Fontealta everyone calls it "the number one", because its design recalls the figure 1. At Cersaie 2026 Twiggy was in brushed brass PVD: here is the video from the stand.

Inside Fontealta, Twiggy has a nickname: "the number one". The reason is clear at first glance, because its design echoes the graphic form of the figure 1. At Cersaie 2026 we presented it in a brushed brass PVD finish, and in the video Alma Simeoli talks through its details.

PVD: steel dressed in gold

Twiggy is made from the same material as our entire production: AISI 316 stainless steel, the marine-grade steel. For Cersaie we coated it with a PVD finish, obtained through a particular process, both physical and chemical, that deposits a stable colour on the surface. Here the colour is brushed brass: a warm, matt gold that does not hide the material but dresses it.

PVD is one of our finish families, alongside natural steel and bespoke colour. We have compared them in Seven finishes, one material.

A complete series, three ways to install

Twiggy, too, is a complete series: it covers the washbasin, the bath and the shower, with deck-mounted, wall-mounted and freestanding pieces. On the stand we chose only a few, but this is precisely the point of a complete series: designers choose the design and then, within the same collection, the technical solution best suited to the building or bathroom they are working on. For an architecture studio, it means using a single formal language throughout the project, from the suite to the spa.

Knurling, a detail that comes from the sea

Twiggy's most recognisable feature is its knurling: the diamond pattern found on the inserts of the shower bodies and on the handles. It is not a decorative choice. In the nautical world, knurling has a precise technical function: on board everything moves, and a knurled surface offers a secure grip even with wet hands. We brought it to our taps with the same logic.

In the brass finish the detail becomes even more striking, because the golden reflections reach right into the fine pattern of the knurling. It is one of the details visitors to the stand notice first, and one that can only truly be appreciated by touch.

The cut of Twiggy's tube has a story of its own: we told it in Twiggy: the 30° cut you only see if it is wrong.
