Origo at Cersaie 2026: 316 steel in a super-polished finish
At Cersaie 2026, Origo is the collection that best expresses our material, AISI 316 stainless steel, in a super-polished mirror finish. Here is the video from the stand.

Of the collections we brought to Cersaie 2026, Origo is the one that best expresses the material from which everything Fontealta produces is made: AISI 316 stainless steel. We showed it in its super-polished version, and Alma Simeoli presents it in a video filmed on the stand.

Super-polished does not mean chrome
In everyday language, a mirror surface on a tap is called "chrome". But chrome plating is a coating, usually applied to brass: it is what you find on most taps on the market. Origo is something else. There is no coating here: the mirror effect is the very surface of the marine-grade steel, brought to that level of brilliance by polishing.
The difference is not only aesthetic. A coating can wear or chip; polished steel remains steel. We explored the comparison in depth in Yacht showers and taps: why 316 steel and not chrome-plated brass.
Polishing that demands craftsmanship
The super-mirror effect comes from a polishing process that calls for great skill and long experience. Every piece passes through the hands of someone who can read the surface and knows when to stop: too little and marks remain, too much and the geometry is lost. It is work done in Viareggio, in our workshop, piece by piece. This is why super-polishing is not a step added at the end: it is the result of careful work on every component, from the spout of the mixer to the base of the column.
The finish of the sea and of hospitality
More than any other, the super-polished finish defines products for the nautical and hospitality worlds. On board yachts and in hotels, a mirror surface conveys care and cleanliness, and in 316 steel it withstands salt water, pool chlorine and intensive use. This is why Origo is a frequent choice for spas, poolsides and hotel bathrooms.

One collection, many solutions
Like the other complete series from Fontealta, Origo covers washbasin, bath and shower, with deck-mounted, wall-mounted and freestanding solutions. And beyond super-polished, it can be made in the other finishes in our catalogue, from brushed steel to bespoke colour.
All models are on the Origo collection page. Previous episodes: Boss and Twiggy.
Next Thursday it is the turn of Origo Rame, Community and Spring, our collections for outdoor spaces.
